Column definitions
- Ahead: parts of the field where human judgment, taste, relationships, or accountability still matter more than model output. Example for data science: framing a fuzzy business question and picking the right metric.
- Catching up: parts where AI can now produce a credible first draft. Example: boilerplate SQL, notebook summaries, or chart code.
Neither column is a verdict. Catching up signals shifting work, not obsolescence.
