What Starter is for
Starter is the try-the-platform tier. It lets you create a profile, browse jobs, use the skills library, and understand the shape of Dilly without paying for the high-computation features on day one.
It is intentionally limited in chat and generation so you can feel the platform before stepping into the heavier AI workflows.
What Dilly is for
Dilly is the main paid plan. It is the version for users who want to actively work with the product, not just inspect it. If you plan to ask Dilly questions, run repeated audits, tailor resumes, and use the app as a career operating surface, this is where that starts to make sense.
What Pro is for
Pro is for heavier daily use. The tool set stays the same as Dilly, but the message cap rises sharply. It is best for people doing high-volume application work, repeated tailoring, or ongoing AI-supported decision-making every day.
Plan is separate from mode
This trips people up. Student, Seeker, and Holder are app modes. Starter, Dilly, and Pro are plan tiers. A Holder user is not automatically paid. A Student user can still be on Pro. These are two different systems.
How Dilly knows your plan
The app reads plan and subscription status from your profile. Depending on the account, status may appear as active, past_due, canceled, unpaid, or empty. After checkout, the app polls your profile for about a minute so the upgraded state can land quickly.
Student discount and promo logic
If you use a .edu email, Dilly can apply student discount logic during checkout. Promo codes also exist in Settings and are validated by the backend.
Common confusion
Why can’t I chat on Starter?
Starter has zero daily AI chat messages. The paywall on first chat attempt is expected behavior.
Why do I still look like Starter right after checkout?
The app polls your profile after payment. If it has only been a moment, refresh and give it a few seconds.
Is Arena available everywhere?
Arena access is a paid feature. Some mode-specific emphasis also changes what feels foregrounded, even when access exists.
